Today I'm going to talk about my personal project I started last year and finished in a 2 months time.
Idea behind project was to make Mafia people more funny and I tried to present them in satirical way. Project name was "Project Mafia" also intentional to make it more funny.
Whole series you can see here.
So lets go talk about the picture. This is one of the last pictures in whole series and it shows 2 bosses posing together. The shot was taken under the bridge in Varazdin, Croatia. Models shown are: Ivan Skupnjak and Bruno Muska and photo and edit is: Domagoj Borscak
For equipment I used: Nikon D700, Nikkor 50mm f1.4, 2 speedlights (SB900 and SB910) triggered by Pocket wizard plus III triggers. Whole equipment was on Manfrotto stands.
About the shot:
To make it more dramatic one light was put on the right side of picture over the heads of models so you can see more light coming from right side. The right model is lit more because he is the main protagonist of the whole series and I want him to pop out. Left side of the picture is more subtle, darker and there is also one light but just to fill a little to take out some details. Second light was under the eye level of models to ensure more light on the bridge.
I make all post production on MBP with SSD and 16GB of RAM. Exclusively using Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 for editing. I'm a big fan of Imagenomic's portraiture and NikSoftware's ColorEfixPRO (in the future I'm going to explain my whole workflow)
For this picture I made standard adjustments like contrast, sharpening, clarity, but after I've done that the real thing started in Photoshop CS6. Whole picture was dodged and burned to make it more light and dark and to pop things out. After that I went to ColorEfex PRO and used my recipe for dramatic light (recipe contains: black and white filter, color bleach filter, contrast only).
Shot was finished with extra tuning of contrast and dodging and burning.
And I think thats it for today folks :)
